Project Pat was born Patrick Earl Houston on 8th February 1973. His place of birth is Memphis, Tennessee. His father Olu Dara was a preacher and his mother Gloria Carter was a librarian. He is the older brother of Juicy J who is the co-founder of Three 6 Mafia.

Pat attended Northside High School. But he left school and pursued a career in music.

Project Pat’s music career started in the 1990s. He appeared on his younger brother Juicy J’s songs featuring DJ Paul. He joined the rap group The Kaze in 1998.

He released his first solo album Ghetty Green in 1999. The album was released through his brother’s record label company Hypnotize Minds.

Pat became an affiliate member of the rap group founded by DJ Paul and his brother Juicy J named Three 6 Mafia. The rapper was featured in the group’s single titled Sippin’ on Some Syrup released in 2000.

In 2001, Houston released his second studio album titled Mista Don’t Play: Everything Workin. The album that included a single such as Don’t Save Her and Chickenhead went on to become his first and only platinum-selling album.

Pat released his third album titled Layin’ Da Smack Down in 2002. He released his fourth album Crook by da Book: The Fed Story in 2005.  His album sold more than 40,000 copies within just the first week. It also appeared at number 64 on the Billboard 200 charts.
