Eugenio Derbez Bio/Early Life

Eugenio Derbez was born Eugenio González Derbez on 2nd September 1961. He was born in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. His parents are Mexican actress Silvia Derbez and publicist Eugenio Gonzalez Salas.

Derbez is the father of Mexican American actor Jose Eduardo Derbez. He is also the father of actress Aislinn Derbez and Vadir Derbez. 

Derbez studied at the Centro de Educacion Artistica and the Mexican Institute.  He concentrated on performing arts since he wanted to make acting his career.

Eugenio Derbez’s acting career started in 1981 when he appeared in the Mexican TV show Cachun cachun ra ra! He appeared in over 30 Mexican and American TV shows between 1981 and 2021.

In 1992, he hosted the Mexican show Al Derecho y al Derbez

Derbez starred in 25 episodes of the Mexican sitcom XHDRbZ aired between 2022 and 2004. He has also appeared in 8 episodes of the American sitcom Rob which aired in 2012 on CBS.

Derbez’s movie career started in 1983 when he made a debut in the Mexican film Por un vestido de novia. He appeared in dozens of Mexican films between 1990 and 2019.

Derbez also was the voice of various Hollywood films. He has been the voice of characters in the Spanish Latin American version of various hit films such as Dr. Doolittle, Mulan, Shrek, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, The Secret Life of Pets, The Grinch, and The Angry Birds Movie 2.
