Income Source 1: Business Career

Pasquale Rotella founded the company Insomniac Events in 1993[4]. Since then, he has been earning millions each year. However, there is scarce information no how much he earns.

There is some information on how much the average person earns at Insomniac ($102,950). However, even if we were to go by the highest estimated annual compensation ($170,000), it still wouldn’t account for the various estimates of this wealth ranging from $12 million to $50 million[5].

However, he did sell a 50% stake in the EDC music festival to Live Nation for $50 million in 2016. A lot of revenue which added to his personal wealth could have come from that sale[6].

Pasquale Rotella’s Early Life and Career

Pasquale Rotella was born on 8th August, 1974 in Glendale, California. His parents were Vincent Rotella and Irene Rotella. He hasn’t shared information regarding his parents or his family and likes to keep his private life out of the spotlight.

Pasquale Rotella moved to Los Angeles from Glendale in 1992. He threw his first party at the age of 17 that same year [8]. In 1993, he founded Insomniac. Since its inception, it has created and founded different music festivals. Initially, he organized smaller raves and parties which became the reason for his frequent police arrests[9]. His track record includes trespassing into different factories to stage events.

Within 1 year of founding Insomniac his parties grew from hundreds to thousands of people strong[10]. He then began to grow his parties into festivals. He began to host Nocturnal Wonderland in the mid-nineties[11]. He also staged the Organic festival in 1996 in the San Bernardino Mountains[12]. The latter was the first legitimate dance festival in California’s history.

However, his biggest achievement came in 2007, when he made a deal with Todd DeStefano to host the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Los Angeles Coliseum[13]. Now called EDC, it has become the largest electronic music festival in the world.

In 2010, due to the tragic death of 15-year-old Sasha Rodriguez through an opioid overdose at EDC, the festival shifted to Las Vegas[14]. In 2013, a 50% stake in the festival was sold to Live Nation for $50 million. In 2016, the festival was attended by 400,000 people.

In 2013, Pasquale Rotella married former Playboy Bunny Holly Madison[15]. They had a daughter together the same year named Rainbow Aurora Rotella and a son in 2016 named Forest Leonardo Antonio Rotella[16].
